Houston police said in 2011, Hendricks was hired as the bookkeeper for Bergner & Johnson Design and cashed $144,000 of unauthorized checks between July 27, 2011 and August 19, 2013.

Authorities said Hendricks initially used the money to pay her debts, but then used the money to send her children to private school and to purchase other personal items.

According to police, the theft was discovered when the company did an audit.

Hendricks confessed to police.

She's being held on $300,000 bond. Hendricks' next court appearance is scheduled for September 18, where an attorney will be assigned.
