PASADENA – From motorcycles to dump trucks, the City of Pasadena will unload dozens of vehicles in a public auction on Saturday.
More than 80 vehicles are included in the auction, which include impounded cars no one picked up to city equipment to old police cruisers.
"They're in good condition," said Vance Mitchell, public information officer for the Pasadena Police Department. "Most of them have been well maintained. We change the oil, check the tires. We try to keep them safe for our officers on the street, therefore making it safe for whoever buys it."
People like Chris Anderson came by just to look on Friday.
"I've heard about it before, awhile back when I was in high school I heard about it," Anderson said. "You could maybe make some money out here if you buy some cheap and sell it again."
All of the vehicles will be sold as-is. There are no test drives, but they will start the car for you before the auction so that you can see that it runs.
Registration for the event is free. You can look at the entire inventory starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. Bidding starts at 9 a.m. Bidders should know that only cash or credit cards will be accepted.
The auction is at the Pasadena Maintenance Services Facility at 3124 Red Bluff Road.
