Vehicles crash, nearly hit southeast Houston home

HOUSTON – Police said a driver could face charges after a crash that nearly hit a southeast Houston home.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. Monday morning.

Houston police said it appeared a white car was speeding, possibly up to 80 miles per hour, headed northbound down Reveille Street.

Officials said the car came upon a pickup headed eastbound on Dixie Drive. The car hit the pickup in the side, sending both vehicles into a yard and a fence.

The man driving the pickup was trapped in his vehicle. Crews had to use heavy equipment to cut him from his truck.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. Officials said they both suffered broken bones.

Investigators said the driver of the white car appeared impaired.

Authorities said he will face driving while intoxicated and assault charges pending the outcome of their investigation.
