United Airlines announces new daily flight to Munich, second to Tokyo

HOUSTON – United Airlines Wednesday announced more flights to two international destinations: Munich and Tokyo.

The airline will launch new daily nonstop flights between Houston and Munich and will begin a second daily service between Houston and Tokyo in spring 2014, subject to government approval.

"The new flights from Houston further expand United's unmatched route network and offer additional travel opportunities with our joint venture partners ANA and Lufthansa," said Cheryl Reed, United's Houston regional sales director. "In addition to adding more nonstop service from Houston, the flights are conveniently timed to provide one-stop connections at the hub from destinations across the Americas."

The new Munich service will launch April 24, 2014. Flight 104 will depart George Bush Intercontinental Airport daily at 4:10pm and arrive at Munich's Franz Joseph Strauss International Airport at 9:50am the next day.

Flight 1 will depart IAH at 9am and arrive at Tokyo's Narita International Airport at 12:35pm the next day. It's the second Tokyo service; the first began in 1999.
