Two killed after driver smashes into tree in SW Houston

Two children were taken to hospital

HOUSTON – Two people are dead after a woman crashed her car into a tree in southwest Houston.

The wreck happened at around 7:40 p.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of Anderson Road. According to the Houston Police Department, Sairi Orellana was driving a Chevrolet Blazer erratically when she swerved off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle then ran into a tree before flipping over.

Police say Orellana was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car as it rolled over.

Orellana and the front seat passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Two small children who were in the back seat were both taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The accident remains under the investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
