Trio arrested at police station lobby for drug charges

BAYTOWN, Texas - Three people were arrested in the lobby of the Baytown Police Department after they came in to report a theft.

According to Baytown police, Debra Ake, Julie Todd and Kenneth Wright came into the police department on Wednesday at around 10 a.m. to report Xanax had been stolen. 

An officer noticed all three had slurred speech, difficulty keeping their eyes open and impaired balance. All three were given a field sobriety tests and failed. They were arrested.

Police say Todd had Xanax pills with her at the time of the arrest.  She did not have a prescription. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Wright was arrested for misdemeanor B public intoxication. He had six previous arrests for public intoxication within the last 24 months.

Ake is charged with public intoxication.
