Teen arrested for allegedly firing gun near Sterling High School

HOUSTON - Police arrested a 17-year-old boy after investigators say he fired a gun near Sterling High School.

Mariano Talavra is charged with exhibition of a firearm for an incident in which he allegedly discharged a firearm on Martindale Road, just down the street from the high school. Houston ISD says Talavra is not enrolled in the district.

HISD says the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.

No one was hurt in last Thursday's incident.
