BAYTOWN - Authorities are investigating a stranger-danger incident near a high school campus in Baytown.
Officials with Goose Greek CISD said a Peter E. Hyland Center student was approached by a stranger Thursday morning while she was walking to the bus stop.
According to the district, the student said a man wearing a hat, a neon green safety vest, blue pants and a blue shirt approached her and asked her questions, including her age, grade and which school she attended. District officials said the girl answered the man's questions and continued walking to the bus stop.
The student reported the incident to school administrators, who then contacted the Baytown Police Department.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
A letter sent home reminded parents to talk with your children about not talking to strangers and never getting into a vehicle with anyone unless they have permission.
Parents with questions or concerns about this incident should call the school office at 281-420-4555.
