Sketch released of man wanted for killing young Houston mother

HOUSTON – Police are hoping a newly released sketch will help them identify the man wanted for killing a young Houston mother.

The shooting occurred on Jan. 21 around 3:20 p.m. on Rockyridge Drive near Pagewood Lane as school was letting out at the nearby Emerson Elementary.

Houston police say Merlyn Yolibeth Perez-Orellana, 24, was shot and killed by a Hispanic man described as 5 feet 7 inches tall with a skinny build.  The suspect is believed to be in his 30s.

Authorities say the suspect was last seen getting into what is believed to be a gold-colored mid-sized SUV.
