HOUSTON – One of the most buzzed about movies of the summer hasn't even been in movie theaters. But for one night only "Sharknado" makes a leap to the big screen.
"Sharknado" is about killer sharks sucked into a tornado in Los Angeles. It reeled in an audience of 1.4 million for its July premiere on the Sy-Fy channel. But it spawned a Twitter feeding frenzy of 5,000 tweets a minute.
"Sharknado" invades theaters around the country Friday night.
The Edwards Marq-e off the Katy Freeway will show "Sharknado" at midnight.
