PASADENA, Texas – A chemical plant burn in Pasadena caused quite a stir with nearby residents, but officials said there's no danger to the public.
Officials with TPC Group Plant in the 8600 block of Park Place Boulevard in Pasadena said severe weather caused an electrical trip within the plant.

Because of that, officials said some equipment shut down and the plant had to burn off chemicals through a flare.
Officials with the plant said the flare was not a danger to the public and there was no shelter in place called.
There were no injuries reported.
Plant officials said they're working to resolve the situation.
