Roger Clemens ready to take the mound

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Roger Clemens will pitch for the Sugar Land Skeeters Saturday.

Clemens is scheduled to make his first start at Constellation Field in Sugar Land around 7:05 p.m when the Skeeters play the Bridgeport Bluefish.

Friday, Clemens joined his teammates for a conference, where he revealed his involvement may be a one-night performance.

"I'm going to pitch Saturday and see how it goes. See how my body responds," Clemens said.

"We're going to have some fun with it. If I get through Saturday, we'll see where it goes from there."

His fastball was clocked at 87 mph during his workout on Monday.

Clemens won the Cy Young Award seven times throughout his career.

The 50-year-old is ranked third on the all-time strikeout list.

He retired from the New York Yankees in 2007.

Clemens was recently on trial in federal court after being accused of lying to Congress.

He was found not guilty.
