Robbers hit pawn shop, smash cases, steal jewelry

HOUSTON – Four robbers were on the run Monday night after hitting the Cash America Pawn and Payday Advance on Greens Road at Imperial Valley in north Houston.

On store surveillance video, you could see the four had their heads covered with bandanas. The store employees and a customer with her child in a stroller were forced into an office. The video showed thieves breaking the glass with a sledge hammer. They then continued breaking into case after case and stealing the jewelry inside.

Cash America said the thieves wore distinctive clothing. One man wore a green hoodie that looked like a cartoon character.

In all, the thieves were only inside the store for about a minute.
