HOUSTON - It's going to be a busy weekend with thousands of runners in town for the 2014 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon.
Both events are set to begin at 7 a.m. Sunday morning near the George R. Brown Convention Center at Congress and San Jacinto.
From there, runners will then head west on Washington to the Heights, go through Midtown and the Upper Kirby area.
If you're driving during the race, Local 2 traffic reporter suggests avoiding streets like Waugh, West Gray, Shepherd, San Felipe and Kirby.
Runners will continue into the Rice University area. Rive Avenue will be closed, as well as University Boulevard to Weslayan.
Westpark Drive out to 610 will be closed as well runners will head north on Post Oak. Tanglewood will also be shut down, as will Chimney Rock up to Memorial Drive. Memorial Drive will be closed all the way into downtown, so use the Katy Freeway as your alternate route.
