HOUSTON - A mural of President Barack Obama located near a popular Houston restaurant was almost the target of another paint attack.
Marcus Davis, the owner of The Breakfast Klub in Midtown, said his surveillance cameras caught a man riding up on a bicycle near the mural Sunday night.
Davis said when he went to confront the man, he saw cans of paint and was sure the man planned to deface the mural.
"The paint can was sitting right next to the mural and he was ready to splash," Davis said.
After Davis struggled with the man, police arrived and questioned him.
The man was released.
The Harris county district attorney's office declined to pursue charges because the mural wasn't defaced.
