Pregnant woman robbed at gunpoint

Police: Ringleader in custody

HOSUTON – Houston police said they've nabbed a group of thieves who robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint.

The 34-year-old woman was walking her kids home from their school bust stop along Town Park Drive in November, when she was approached by Bladmir Guevara, 17, and two of his friends, investigators said.

The suspects walked up to her and pointed a gun to her stomach and told her to give them her money or they would shoot her and her unborn child, officials said.

Detectives said the victim said she didn't have any cash, and instead gave the trio her cellphone. Seconds later, the crooks took off, police said.

According to court documents, a witness saw the whole ting happen and flagged down an officer. Records show that officer managed to catch the group and then took them in for questioning.

Investigators said Guevara denied any involvement and walked out of the police station that day. Officials said his two friends later confessed to the crime, along with robbing several other people.

Police said they implicated Guevara by telling them he was their ringleader.

Guevara has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He was booked into jail with bond set at $8,000.

Officials said the other two suspects' names haven't been released because they are juveniles.
