Police: Two women rob store clerk at knife point

HOUSTON – Police are searching for two women they said robbed a store clerk at knife point in southeast Houston.

According to detectives, the women entered Clothesmax on the Gulf Freeway and the South Loop around 11:15 a.m. on May 13 and began to look at merchandise in the store.

When one of the women approached the service to counter to check out, investigators said she reached across the counter, took the items and left the store without paying.

Police said the clerk followed the woman to her car in an attempt to retrieve the stolen items. That's when according to investigators, one of the women pulled a knife on the female clerk and threatened her.

Police said both women drove off in a red, four-door compact vehicle.

One woman is described as Hispanic, between 20-27 years old, 5-feet eight-inches tall, about 160 pounds with black hair worn in a pony tail, and a tattoo around her belly button.

The second woman is described as Hispanic, between 30-38 years old, about five-feet five-inches tall, about 144 pounds with black hair.
