Police: Two attempted kidnappings of young girls in Pasadena area

PASADENA, Texas – Police are looking for information on reports of two attempted kidnappings of young girls in the Pasadena area.

They believe they have a missing girl on their hands, but they're not quite sure. Here's where the confusion comes in: a girl says a man tried to lure her into his car in one location. She got away. But just a short distance from there, a bus driver saw a man try to grab another girl.

A 13-year-old girl says a man tried to get her into his car in the 6500 block of Spencer Highway near the Cinnamon Ridge apartments Friday just after 8am.  She said she was on her way to the bus stop.   She said she ignored him and kept going.  She said he then drove to the back of the apartment complex.

She told her school counselor when she got to Deep Water Junior High School.

"The first little girl identified the car as a silver vehicle, 4-door, Dark-tinted windows, possibly a Honda," said Vance Mitchell, with the Pasadena Police Department.

At about the same time, a Deer Park ISD school bus driver reported seeing what appears to be a different car -- a silver, Lincoln Town Car -- pull up next to a 14- or 15-year-old girl with long blonde hair and a pink backpack.  It happened near the KFC on Spencer Highway and Red Bluff.

The bus driver said she saw the driver roll his window down, talk to the girl and then try to grab her.  The bus driver continued her rounds and does not know what happened next.  Police want to talk to the girl and the Lincoln's driver.

"We want to make sure that the public's aware of the possible person like this out here, looking for young girls and be sure that you caution all of your kids about stranger danger," Mitchell said.

The suspect is described as a black male with a beard, 50–60 years old, with a black ball cap, and a black jacket. The first victim said he has a deep voice.

Police want to make sure this teenager is OK. Anyone who can identify this young female or may have witnessed this incident, is encouraged to call the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221.
