Police patrol near schools

Houston police say the biggest problem is drivers speeding in a school zone.

HOUSTON - Police are looking out for speeders now that school is back in session.

Classes began for most of the schools in the Houston area Monday.

"I'm very excited about the first day, I'm very nervous," said student Jesse Deliro

Houston police were in full force to make sure everything went smoothly on the roads. Officers said the biggest problem is drivers speeding in a school zone.

Their advice -- motorists need to readjust their schedules and wake up earlier.

HISD police and Houston police recommend calling police if you notice a child looking lost or anything suspicious around the schools.
