Man in sketch hit woman, left her lying in street, police say

GALVESTON, Texas – Galveston police have released a sketch of a man wanted for beating a woman unconscious.

It happened in October near the intersection of Avenue T and Jack Johnson Boulevard, also known as 41st Street, police said.

Neighbor Maria Hacker said she heard the commotion that evening, went outside and saw the police.

"I went into the house and told my husband there's a lady out there, she's lying in the street," said Hacker.

Police said the attacker took the woman's diamond ring off her finger and stole her cell phone.

He punched her in the face, resulting in facial fractures, police said.

Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
