Police: Locked door stops would-be robbers at Baytown Subway

Three arrested for attempted robbery

BAYTOWN, Texas – Police said an alert employee foiled three would-be robbers' plans at a Subway in Baytown on Saturday.

Investigators said the employee was about to open the Subway on Garth Road near Independence for business when she noticed a masked and armed man walking towards the door. The woman reacted by quickly locking the door and moving away from it.

Police said the potential robber returned to his vehicle and drove away.

Investigators said they found the car driving near Garth Road and I-10. Police said they found guns and masks inside when they stopped the vehicle.

Three people in the car were taken into custody, police said. Authorities have not yet charged the suspects.
