MISSOURI CITY, Texas - A pilot was forced to make an emergency landing near a Missouri City high school.

Investigators said the plane landed in a field off Waters Lake Boulevard near Ridge Point High School at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department said the 72-year-old pilot managed to land without hurting herself or damaging the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the emergency, including whether or not the plane ran out of gas.
