BAYTOWN - Police are asking for help as they try to locate a person of interest responsible for attacking and robbing an elderly man.
Baytown police said they were called to the 1600 block of Mississippi for the robbery of a man around 5 p.m. on September 16.
Upon arrival, officers found the 85-year-old victim who told police he was at one of his rent homes in the 1500 block of Mississippi when he was assaulted and robbed.
According to the victim, he had received a call from man who wanted information about a rent home he had to offer. The victim met with man at 4:15 p.m., and during the process of showing the house, the man attacked the victim, knocked him to the ground and took his wallet, which contained about $100 in cash, credit cards, his social security card and driver's license in his wallet.
Authorities said the victim also received a cut above his eye and his eye was swollen shut during the assault.
As police continue their investigation, they released surveillance photos of the person of interest using the victim's stolen credit card at a convenience store.
