Pedestrian hit by driver running stop sign

HOUSTON - A man crossing a street was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in southeast Houston.

The accident happened around midnight Wednesday on Bryant Road and the Gulf Freeway.

Investigators said a man was walking on the sidewalk and began crossing Bryant Road when a car came around the corner, did not stop at the stop sign, and hit him.

The victim was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police cited the driver for failing to stop.
