HARRIS COUNTY – Officials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in northwest Harris County.
Authorities said the shooting happened in Copperfield in the Walmart parking lot located 15955 FM 529 Road and Highway 6.
DPS Sgt. Sampa says the trooper was still sitting in his car when he shot the suspect.
According to Sampa, the twelve year veteran was on duty driving down 529 when he saw the suspect trying to open car doors.
The suspect drew a weapon and the trooper shot him.
The shooting victim was killed.
