HOUSTON – A woman has been accused of leaving her two small children alone at a park for more than an hour.
Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said Makia Deaniel Edwards dropped her two children, one of them just 4 years old, at a park in the 2500 block of Frick Road for a practice and left them there.

Officials said when people noticed the children were alone, they began making phone calls.
Investigators said Edwards was arrested at the park when she returned.
The children have since been released to the care of a family member, officials said.
Edwards has been charged with abandoning a child.
