GALVESTON, Texas – Police in Galveston said they've arrested a mixed martial arts fighter in connection with a deadly shooting.

The investigation into the death of Maxie Flowers, 28, ended at the Combat Sports Institute in Galveston, officials said. Investigators said that's where they found their suspect, Ralph Garcia Jr., 28, on Wednesday. Officials said he was arrested without incident.

Galveston police accuse Garcia of fatally shooting Flowers in the early morning hours of Oct. 13, 2011, while riding his bicycle in the 5400 block of Avenue L.

Investigators said Flowers was shot after he and Garcia got into some sort of verbal argument.

Police said they also arrested Garcia's dad, Ralph Garcia Sr., on an out-of-state warrant, but officials have not released what the charge was.

Ralph Garcia Jr. has been charged with murder, and investigators said more charges may be coming.
