BAYTOWN - Charges have been filed against two people after shots were fired in a Baytown neighborhood.
Baytown police were called to a home in the 3300 block of Wisconsin on March 23 after reports of a fight and shots being fired in the area.
According to police, Jacob Gonzalez, 23, walked out of the home and did not follow an officer's commands to put his hands in the air. As a result, the officer shocked Gonzalez with a taser.
As police were restraining Gonzalez, a woman identified as 23-year-old Jessica Chavez came out of the home and picked up a machete that was on the porch.
Police say Chavez threw the machete at an officer. The machete got stuck in a fence.
Gonzalez admitted to firing a gun, but told police his home was being burglarized. According to witnesses, he was breaking into his own home.
Gonzalez is charged with disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm. Chavez is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.
