Man wanted in abduction, robbery of woman at grocery store

HOUSTON – A woman was kidnapped and robbed at a Whole Foods store in west Houston and now police are asking for your help in catching the suspect.

On Sept. 23rd at 4am, a female employee of the Whole Foods pulled into the parking lot on her way to work. She noticed a small red car several spaces from hers but thought it was another employee.  Before she could make it to the front door of the store, the suspect grabbed her around the neck, put a gun to her head and ordered the victim back into her car.

The suspect got into the passenger seat and told the victim he would shoot her if she screamed.  The suspect then ordered the female to drive to the Wells Fargo ATM at Westheimer and S. Kirkwood and withdraw money.

Houston police say the suspect then directed the victim to drive to an apartment complex in the 7400 block of Calhoun in southeast Houston.  The suspect told her to drive to the back of the apartment complex and ordered her into the back seat.  Police say the suspect talked about raping the victim, then exposed himself and forced the victim out of the car.

According to police, the suspect then ordered the victim to the middle of the complex and told her to stand against the apartment building with her hands on the wall, then ran back to her car and fled the scene.

The victim's car was later recovered near 610 West Loop and Bellaire.

Police released surveillance video from the bank and a sketch of the suspect. He is described as a black male, 5 foot 10, 170 lbs, short hair, and wearing a white shirt and dark pants.  He is still at large.
