HOUSTON – A couple who just moved to Houston say a man threatened to kill them and their five children after they accidentally cut the man off.
Billy and Christina Shaw have only lived in Houston about a week. Christina isn't familiar with the roads and wound up in the wrong lane while driving on Old Spanish Trail near Scott Street. Her husband admits she accidentally cut someone off.
"All of a sudden, we heard a lot of honking from the car behind us," said Billy Shaw. "He pulled up beside us and pulled out his gun and was cussing my wife out you know, 'B, you cut me off and tried to kill me, now I'm going to kill you.'"
"Honestly, I was scared," said Christina.
She was in the car with her husband and their five kids. The oldest is six, the youngest just 8 months old. The Shaw's say the gun was pointed directly at them.
"It's extremely terrifying. Everything I cherish was in the car that day," said Christina.
The driver didn't stick around, but the Shaws called the Houston Police Department. HPD said hey have a possible suspect's name and are investigating.
The Shaws just hope he's caught soon.
"If he has another bad day or somebody makes him mad -- you know -- his first thought is to pull a pistol? That would make anybody feel unsafe," she said.
