Man shot twice, found in apartment

HOUSTON – A man was shot twice while staying at his friend's southwest Houston apartment.

When police arrived at the Forum Park Three apartments on Sugar Branch Drive around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, they found a man with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and wrist.

According to officials, the victim does not live in the apartment but was visiting and asked to stay the night.  Police said the man and woman who live there were asleep in the bedroom when they heard gunshots, came into the living room, and found their friend on the couch.

The woman said someone came in and shot the victim, but she said she did not see who it was and could not identify the intruder.

Police said the man who lives in the apartment left the scene after police arrived. HPD said they did not know he lived there and was in the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Emergency crews transported the victim to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
