HOUSTON – One man was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle collision in north Houston.
Houston police said the wreck happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on Tidwell Road near Balsam Lane.

Detectives said Daniel Hope, 20, was speeding east on Tidwell in a Toyota Corolla when he lost control of the car.
Police said he struck a curb and overcorrected into oncoming lanes of traffic, which is when a GMC Envoy slammed into the side of his car.
Hope was killed in the wreck, police said. He was not wearing a seat belt, investigators said.
Emergency crews took the driver of the GMC to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
