HOUSTON - A portion of the Northwest Freeway is back open after an pedestrian was killed.
A driver notified police after seeing a body in the main lanes of Highway 290 early Sunday morning.
Houston Police responded to Highway 290 Eastbound at Tidwell in Northwest Houston.
Officers say around 2:30 a.m. a man in his 20's or 30's attempted to walk across the freeway and he was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was dragged for several feet and died at the scene.
The driver who hit the unidentified man did not stop.
Police say there is not a vehicle description.
