Houston – A man is dead after a he was struck by a vehicle Saturday night on South Gessner Road at Sands Point in southwest Houston.
Police say the vehicle sped off after hitting the man, who had just left a night club and was attempting to cross the street.
The impact of the hit caused the man to be thrown across two lanes and onto the sidewalk. The victim is believed to be in his 20s.
The Houston Police Department believe the vehicle has serious damage. They say they could not find any witnesses to speak to after the accident but they think there may be surveillance video from a nearby business.
The vehicle was traveling south on South Gessner and did not stop.
The identity of the male victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
