HOUSTON – Investigators are trying to figure out how an elderly man died after he crashed his vehicle in northwest Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the man was driving his Toyota Camry Thursday night down Hempstead Highway when he suddenly swerved to the right and drove into a ditch near Gessner Road.

Police found the 72-year-old man, in his 70s, dead at the scene.
There were no signs of severe trauma from the crash impact.
Police said he may have had a heart attack or some other medical issue which caused him to crash.
