HOUSTON – Spring High School had five incidents involving knives during the 2011-2012 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.
The 2011-12 is the most recent year for which statistics are available, according to the state agency.
Public schools in Texas are required to report various sub-categories in a "Campus Discipline Report" each school year.
Local 2 Investigates requested data regarding crimes and violent incidents occurring at Spring High School in the wake of Wednesday's deadly stabbing in the school's cafeteria.
During the same school year less than five incidents of "school-related" gang violence were reported.
A category labeled "fighting/mutual combat" noted 105 Spring High School campus incidents during 2011-2012.
TEA does not provide Campus Discipline Reports online. But on the agency's website, parents can file an open records request and for a copy of a "Campus Discipline Report" for any school.
