Intense beating video sparks outrage

Mother demands answers

HOUSTON – A video of teenage being beaten by another teen has sparked outrage, and now the girl's mother wants answers.

The video clip is only about 45 seconds long, but is intense. It shows one girl repeatedly punching another girl in the head.

In the background, several students are seen standing around, and they don't appear to be helping.

Eventually, one girl helped break up the fight.

"I don't think it's right what she did to my daughter," said the girl's mother, who didn't want to be identified.

The mom said not only did her daughter get beat up, but the cellphone video was then posted online for all to see.

"At first I got really mad and burst out crying. I had no clue. I didn't know what I was going to do," said the daughter.

The mother asked to have the video removed, and it has since been taken off YouTube.

Now, she's hoping to press assault charges against the other girl and bring awareness to bullying.

"Well, I would like for someone to help us and to try to stop all the kids," said the girl's mother.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said both of the girls were issued citations for disorderly conduct. The mother said her daughter's case was dropped once the judge watched the video and realized she was a victim.
