Humble police looking for two alleged bank robbers

HUMBLE, Texas – Two armed men are on the run after authorities say they stormed into a bank, forced tellers to the ground and then took off with cash.

As authorities searched for the suspects, Humble Elementary School was put on lockdown. Humble police surrounded the Commercial State Bank just on the north side of the Deerbrook Mall Friday morning off of Highway 59 after two men wearing masks stormed into the business and demanded cash.

Investigators say the crooks were armed with handguns and forced at least two tellers to the ground while taking as much as possible. The men were in and out in a matter of seconds.

Nearby Humble Elementary was put on lockdown for about two hours while police searched for the robbers as a precaution.

Officers say they found an abandoned truck in the area that's believed to be the getaway truck, but the thieves were nowhere to be found.

Detectives are reviewing video surveillance as they collect more evidence in the search for those involved.

Police say they aren't sure how much cash the thieves got away with and are working to get fingerprints that may have been left at the scene.
