HOUSTON - Houston Police Chief Charles A. McClelland, Jr. welcomed 63 police recruits to their first day of training in the 218th Police Academy Cadet Class in the department's history.
On Monday, Chief McClelland stressed to the cadets the importance of following the HPD's three major core values: Honor, Integrity and Respect.
The men and women of Class 218 will undergo 26 weeks of rigorous training prior to graduation.
