HOUSTON – A Houston police officer talked a suicidal woman off the ledge of a downtown Houston parking garage Wednesday morning, according to HPD.
HPD says Sgt. Steve Wick approached the woman, crouching down to listen to the woman talk about her problems as she sat on the ledge of the nine-story structure. About 45 minutes later, HPD says Wick convinced her to climb down.

The woman was taken to get a medical evaluation, according to HPD.
Houston police say it's the second time Wick, a 23-year veteran, has successfully talked someone out of taking their own life.
