HOUSTON – A man has been arrested and charged after he attempted to throw a beer bottle at a police officer and then hid in a portable toilet, investigators said.

Arnett Johnson, 56, has been charged with aggravated assault of a public servant.

Houston police said someone called them to report that Johnson was harassing a woman.

Officers went out to the scene and discovered that the woman's car windshield had been broken.

Johnson barricaded himself in a portable toilet, investigators said.

Detectives said that when Johnson came out of the portable toilet, he tried to throw a 40-ounce beer bottle at the officer.

Johnson has an extensive criminal history in Harris County. In 2012, he has also been charged with assault and retaliation. Since 1984, he's been charged with theft, criminal mischief, making a terroristic threat, injury to an elderly person, trespassing, aggravated assault and deadly conduct.
