HPD: Man steals beers, threatens Taco Cabana employees with mop

HOUSTON – A man is in custody, accused of threatening employees with a mop at a Taco Cabana in the Heights.

According to the Houston Police Department, the man walked into the restaurant on Yale and Katy Freeway Tuesday night without a shirt or shoes on. The manager asked him to leave because of their no shirts, no shoes policy.

Police said the man started acting irate, grabbing a nearby mop and swinging it at employees. As everyone inside ran outside to get away, the man grabbed three beers and made his escape, said police.

Officers found him hiding behind a car in a nearby parking lot and arrested him. He's charged with aggravated robbery.
