The victim tried to drive away from the scene, when someone in the other group shot at his yellow SUV, according to investigators.

They say one bullet flew through the windshield and grazed the victim in the head.

Officials say the victim managed to get to a Sonic restaurant on the North Freeway feeder and West Mount Houston Road. Once there, detectives said he called a friend to take him to the hospital.

An officer said he spotted the friend speeding on the way to the hospital at the North Loop and North Shepherd Drive.

The officer said he tried to pull their vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop.

The driver eventually pulled over and the man who was grazed was transported by Houston firefighters to the hospital.

Investigators tell Local 2 the driver who refused to pull over and another passenger could face charges for evading police.

Both were taken into custody, but police said charges are pending.

Police said they are still looking for the gunman.
