HOUSTON – A Houston mother was arrested, after police said she beat one of her daughters.
Janny Navarro, 30, appeared before a judge in downtown Houston on Monday to have an attorney assigned.

She's charged with injury to a child.
According to police, Navarro hit her daughter, 7, multiple times on the back with a belt after her other daughter, 2, nearly choked on a marble.
The 7-year-old girl was supposed to be babysitting her 2-year-old sister, investigators said.
Police said Navarro admitted to hitting her daughter.
Navarro was in jail being held on $35,000 bond.
