Houston makes list of America's Most Miserable Sports Cities

HOUSTON – Is Houston a miserable city for professional sports?

Apparently, the folks at Forbes magazine think so. Forbes released its list of America's Most Miserable Sports Cities and the Bayou City came in at number 8.

The magazine used a formula not just limited to losses, but one that included, as Forbes describes it, "The closer you come (to a championship) and miss, the more misery points you score."

Setting aside the Rockets two NBA championships in the mid-90s, the magazine points out the many years of playoff losses for the Astros and Rockets. And it's been nearly 20 years since a Houston team won a title, since that Rockets team back in 1995.

Seattle topped the list, while Atlanta, Phoenix, Buffalo and San Diego rounded out the top five.
