HOUSTON - Houston Can Academy was placed on lockdown Thursday after a spokesperson for the school says a staff member noticed suspicious activity in the parking lot and called police.

The spokesperson said the incident occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday.

School officials didn't elaborate on the activity, but police told the desk the caller described someone who looked like he had a gun.

Police took two people into custody. The suspects were not students, said officials.

Students were then released at 4:50 p.m., ten minutes after their regular dismissal time.
