Homeowner shoots, kills man during home invasion

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a home invasion that led to a shooting in southeast Houston.

According to investigators, a 20-year-old man kicked in the door to a home on Glenheath and Ruthby around 4:50 a.m. Sunday. 

A husband and wife were home at the time. 

Houston police say the 56-year-old husband feared for his life and shot the intruder twice in the abdomen.

The man was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

Names of those involved were not immediately released.
