HOUSTON - The Houston Independent School District is hosting several public meetings this summer to discuss the new draft redistricting plan.
Parents and community members are invited to come share their input. The meetings will focus on the draft plan for redrawing the boundaries of the nine districts used to elect Houston Independent School District trustees. Because of the annexation of North Forest ISD in 2013, all trustee districts must be realigned to include the new areas.
The meetings will take place a the following times and locations:
July 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Shadydale Elementary, 5905 Tidwell Road, 77028
July 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Pin Oak Middle School, 4601 Glenmont Street, 77401
July 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center, 4400 West 18th Street, 77092
July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Austin High School, 1700 Dumble Street, 77023
The Board of Education is expected to adopt the final redistricting map in August.
