GALVESTON - The Galveston-Bolivar Ferry will be closed Saturday morning for dredging.
TxDOT says ferry operations will stop between 8-11 a.m. while a dredge pipe is submerged across the Bolivar landing. The dredge pipe will be used to remove excess material that has built up underwater at the landing site.
Officials say the closure was scheduled during daytime hours for safety reasons.
During the closures, passengers are asked to adjust their travel plans.
