SPRING - Family and friends said their final goodbyes to the teenager who was stabbed to death last week at Spring High School.
Funeral services for 17-year-old Joshua Broussard were held Monday at Spring Baptist Church.
All who knew Broussard said he was a young man with dreams.
"Josh he was a good person," said friend Jamarcus Jefferson. "He never started trouble."
"Josh was a nice kid he was a loving kid," said family friend Lishae Johnson.
Last Wednesday, Broussard was stabbed to death by a fellow student inside Spring High School's cafeteria.
"It was something that was unexpected, you don't expect to see one of your close friends to up and go like that," said Jefferson. "Tomorrow is never promised."
Family friends said they are still in shock over how Broussard died.
Sunday night during the memorial service, deputies said there was a disturbance outside of the church and someone fired off a gun. Members of the church refute that claim.
On Monday, 40 police officers were on hand for crowd control, but everything remained peaceful.
As family and friends were leaving the church, they were handed bracelets that read "My brother's keeper, not killer."
Seventeen-year-old Luis Alfaro was arrested following the stabbing that killed Broussard and injured three other students. Alfaro is charged with murder.
